BeanChannel: Java Distributed Event Model

نویسنده

چکیده

The Java event delegation model is simple and efficient, yet may not suffice for complex designs. The COSS Event Service is powerful in theory, but its actual power depends on “quality of service”, with is a rather fuzzy concept. The InfoBus event model features strong and interesting capabilities, but exposes one drawback – it is not distributed. This paper presents a new Java event architecture, called BeanChannel, that is as intuitive as the event delegation model, as semantically rich as the COSS Event Service, and as expressive and modular as the InfoBus event model, while offering one significant bonus – distributed capability.

Interconnection of Distributed Components:

From design and manufacturing to electronic commerce, coordinating business activities in engineering applications requires accessing data and software from distributed sources. The Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) of the Object Management Group emerged in the 1990’s as a standard for access to distributed software components. Since that time, the standard has matured significa...

Massively Distributed Virtual Worlds a Framework Approach MaDViWorld: a Java Software Framework for Massively Distributed Virtual Worlds

The aim of this paper is to briefly present the general concept of virtual worlds and then to focus on distributed and decentralized ones. MaDViWorld is a Java framework for massively distributed virtual worlds. We first present its software architecture and then discuss some of its specialized features, namely: the object structure and the distributed event model. These are the main aspects th...

Replicating Distributed Events for Real - Time Collaboration Report

In this paper a new paradigm for distributed event management and replication to support realtime collaboration, where the number of collaborating clients, their locations and interests are dynamic. The approach essentially applies the “pull” knowledge management model to distributed event management by defining semantically enhanced events and using state-based interactions techniques to commu...

Distributed discrete event simulation using the three-phase approach and Java

The recent rapid growth in the Internet and the use of this technology for corporate intranets presents new opportunities for parallel discrete event simulation, hitherto limited to specialist groups with dedicated computer facilities. This paper describes research on distributed discrete event simulation using the three-phase approach and implemented in Java. Two specific implementations are d...

An Execution and Transaction Model for Active, Rule-Based Component Integration Middleware

The Integration Rules (IRules) project is investigating the use of active rules for supporting event-driven activity in applications involving distributed component integration. Integration rules respond to events that are raised during the execution of distributed transactions to evaluate conditions and trigger actions over distributed components that are implemented using the Enterprise Java ...
